Welcome on my homepage!

Here you find DXulator, wich is a free indirect realtime DX7 emulator, programmed in Visual Basic 6 for Windows XP and Vista .
DXulator is engined by
Csound and fueled with the 32 orc's (credits for Dr. Russell Pinkston, Jeff Harrington and Sylvain Marchand ) found  here  on Jeff's site, wich describe the algoritms in a DX7 synthesizer. The main purpose is to automaticaly create and play SFZ  soundfont  files from DX7 patches. Install SFZ player in the main DXulator directory and it wil blend in (patch edit) page.
Download SFZ player from:
Project 5
Secondairly  DXulator is also a DX7 editor/patchmanager.

Why emulating a DX7?
Because the DX7 is a very expressive synthesizer. The main difference between DX7 and conventionel synths is that you can
precisely control the buildup of harmonics in 8 dynamic velocity-layers. In conventionel synths there are the filters wich
mostly are very static and don't change the dynamic buildup of harmonics with different velocities.
With a DX7 the result is a more lively natural sound WITH expression. In DXulator you also can use this feature to create SFZ soundfont files including up to 8  different velocity-layers!
For the example Supertramp.SFZ you have to unzip in the "Work" directory of DXulator.
23-02-09 New: DXulator native patch creation. See "Work" directory for examples. 09-03-09 Fixed-Frequency bug fixed.
